PEACE CAMP

Chicagoland’s Weeklong Peacemaking Day Camp

June - August 9am-3pm

Summer 2024 Theme -   Peace Campers Care for the Earth

Peace has been a goal for our world for much of human history, and every generation has to make that goal their own. We believe that Peace must begin in each person for it to spread throughout the world, and it’s never too early to start. Through the language of global religions, Peace Camp trains the next generation of peacemakers in cooperation and conflict resolution. Campers learn skills to approach their problems peacefully and to create their own solutions to the injustices they see in the world. Every year campers build these skills through art, prayer, exercise, music, and community.

2024 Theme - Peace Campers Care for the Earth

One of the greatest impediments to Peace in our world is human disconnection from the rest of creation. This year’s camp will focus directly on how different faith traditions view human connection to the environment, and support children to notice the problem in the world around them in order to heal it. We will tell stories and wonder about the history of humans' relationship to the environment in U.S. culture, and empower kids to be agents of peace and healing in the world to come.
